Inspired by a particularly stunning section of Italian coastlineHand-painted folded card with gold foil. Each card has a unique abstract design. Paired with a patterned envelope.

Card size: 4.25" x 5.5"

All of Moglea's hand-painted products are created by staff in their Audubon, Iowa studio. Their watercolor cards are painted in large sheets of 4-ply mat board and recycled chipboard before being trimmed down to final size.

Moglea is under the creative direction of Chad & Meg Gleason. Meg, the illustrator behind the stationery line, loves gestural brush strokes and intricate geometric patterns.

A Hayden Note: When I was about 12 years old my parents hired a car to take us along a section of the Amalfi Drive. When we stopped for lunch, my parents invited our driver to join us. He was absolutely appalled when he saw me politely cutting my pasta with a knife and could not bite his tongue. He demonstrated, with gusto, that I should only swirl the pasta with a fork. My parents and I spent the rest of the meal practicing our pasta swirls. We ended up in with belly aches from laughter and completely splattered with marinara.

About the maker

Moglea

Moglea is a design studio that creates modern paper and home goods, and was founded by Meg and Chad Gleason in 2012. Their artful line is created by using hand-applied production processes like paint and dye to add one-of-a-kind elements to each finished product. The production team in their Iowa-based studio thoughtfully applies layers of paint to extra thick sheets of paper before cutting them down, yielding unique compositions. For each new release, Chad and Meg intentionally focus on adding unexpected production processes or visual ideas to the current collection. The result is a product line in which each piece feels like a work of art that is meant to be shared.
