This sustainable collection celebrates a 200-year-old tradition of making 100% natural lacquered wooden objects from a soft-ivory tree, known for its medicinal properties. Practiced in a small town in Southern India, this craft has been passed down through generations, and today, we work with a 5th generation artisan family to produce contemporary, design-forward jewelry that breathes new life into this ancient tradition.

By working directly with the artisans, they hope to help them retain a positive sense of identity, both about their craft as well as the value of their own skills. The end goal being, sustainable employment opportunities, and market access, so artisans don’t have to leave their crafts in pursuit of adequate income elsewhere.
