Orvana's expert team of Indian artisans hand weave, hand block print, and vegetable dye their one-of-a-kind patterns. The designer, Alka Mattoo, hails from the Kashmir Valley and refers to her line as "slow fashion, a movement that advocates for environmental and social justice in the fashion industry. Its defining point is that it zeroes in on the problem of overproduction and overconsumption. Slow fashion came at the heels of the “slow food” movement.
